The Sun in the 7th house
This indicates a person who enters into disputes with the authorities, or a person with a rebellious character. They may also expect quarrels in their family life and difficulties in close relations with others. They will travel and will start their own business. Outwardly they are usually lean. They possess abilities in management and are widely known. (Tom Hopke)
Surya (the Sun) in the seventh house
Extreme independence, disputes with the authorities, quarrels in family life, organisational abilities and wide renown. People with the Sun in the 7th house of the horoscope are successful in their own business and travel a lot. (Indubala)
The Sun in the seventh house: he tries to cause his partner pain, a wife with a nasty character, an ambitious partner, an unhappy family life.
An afflicted Sun in the 7th house indicates sexual licentiousness. (Shri Govind Swarup Agarwal)
The Sun in the 7th house: an absence of respect
The Sun in the 7th house gives difficulties in entering into marriage. Those born with such a placement of the Sun are inclined to start relationships with immoral women and to have extramarital liaisons. The person finds himself a proud husband/wife. This is a bad placement for partnership relations. The Sun here may give haemorrhoids and diseases of the genitourinary organs. The Sun is in the 7th house at the moment of sunset — when it has done its hard work and is going to sleep. Therefore the Sun is not active here. (Mahesh Dharmadasa)

“Bhrigu Sutra” 1.69-74
The Sun in the 7th house will give a late marriage, disrespect towards the opposite sex and numerous sexual liaisons outside marriage. The owner of the horoscope will become infatuated with other men’s wives and he himself
will have two wives. In his 25th year of life he will leave his homeland and set off on a distant journey. The owner of the horoscope will be witty. He will come to prefer non-vegetarian food and will be hostilely disposed towards his wife. The owner of the horoscope will have a restless, unstable mind. If the Sun is in the sign of Leo, then only one marriage is possible. In the case of a negative aspect to the Sun, or its conjunction with an inimical, malefic or weakened planet, several marriages or sexual relations with many women are to be expected.
Comments:
The malefic character of the Sun in the 7th house is reflected unfavourably on marital relations. The Sun, as a fiery planet, influencing the 1st house, gives an ardent and passionate temperament, a scandalous reputation, a proud, haughty and egoistic character, and also a striving for leadership and excellent organisational qualities. With such a position of the Sun in the horoscope the negative indications of the 7th house are revealed — the breaking of agreements, contracts and accords, and a striving for sensual enjoyments. Nevertheless, the favourable character of a house of the quadrant is so great, and the Sun, being placed in it, gives such a strong personality, that one may speak with confidence of wide renown for the owner of the horoscope, but what kind of renown this will be, the whole horoscope will show.
Bhrigu Muni mentions that the owner of the horoscope will prefer non-vegetarian food. This too follows from the ruinous influence of the Sun on the 1st house — the house of the person’s basic inclinations. At the foundation of the Vedic tradition lies the principle of ahimsa — non-violence. The law of karma (retribution or requital) says that the killing of an animal, as well as the consumption of slaughtered food, its purchase, sale and preparation, have heavy karmic consequences which manifest in illnesses, sufferings, aggression and violence towards the person. Meat-eating is considered a sin in the Vedic tradition and speaks of a low level of consciousness. People who consume meat as food are called chandalas, or “untouchables”, standing outside the castes. According to the sacred scriptures, animals have a soul, the same as a human being, but at a different stage of evolution. By killing an animal, a person holds back the evolution of its soul and brings karmic consequences upon himself.
Other opinions concerning the Sun in the 7th house:
“Brihat Jataka” — humiliations from women await the owner of the horoscope.
“Phaladipika” — a person who has the Sun placed in the 7th house of the horoscope will possibly have damage to some parts of the body. He will set himself against the interests of the government, will wander aimlessly and endure humiliations. In family life he will not find happiness.
“Saravali” — the owner of the horoscope will be unattractive and sickly. He will become amoral, and his deeds may lead to imprisonment. He will not respect women and will himself experience humiliation from those around.
“Chamatkar Chintamani” — sickliness, constant anxiety, great losses, and also a passionate and jealous character will be characteristic of a person if the Sun is placed in the 7th house of the horoscope. His wife will be unhappy.
Note: All the authoritative sources note the immorality of the owner of the horoscope and, as a consequence, an unhappy family life.

The results of the placement of the Sun in the 7th house
If Surya occupies the 7th Bhava, then the person is left without property; his body seems dull; he is full of fear and unhealthy, he has a nasty character, he is very anxious because of the danger of royal punishment, and his body is weak.
Comments: Most experienced astrologers speak of the placement of Surya [the Sun] in the 7th Bhava [house] as unfavourable. The negative results will occur only in a person born at the time of the boundary between night and day. If the Sun in this house is endowed with strength, and the birth did not fall at the time of the joining of day and night, then the person will earn wealth through industry and in partnership with someone.
the Sun in the 7th house
The 7th house rules interaction with partners, and also shows the attainment of success in business. The Sun gives the person confidence in his partners and in his own success, which is often a subject of disappointments, since in reality difficulties await him on the path of life.
With such a placement it is difficult to open up before a partner and to feel comfort and cosiness in close relationships. The person as it were adheres to the status quo and tries to be as independent as possible, although inside he desires closeness and understanding.
In business such people, even in difficult times, play the role of a successful person who has prospered in everything. On the one hand, this makes it hard to ask for advice and help; on the other hand, it creates a reputation as a man of iron. Whether this is good or bad is for you to decide.
In the natural horoscope [where the 1st house is occupied by the sign of Aries] the Sun experiences its fall in the 7th house, therefore this placement carries weakness. The person may push away people who enter into a close distance of communication. A difficult placement for family life. The person strongly identifies himself with his husband/wife, and this may create a foundation for dominant behaviour.
The Sun, being in the 7th house, creates argalas (negative influence) on independence, competitiveness, the ability to resolve conflicts, the person’s social life, emotions and inner calm.
A favourable the Sun in the 7th house:
- A deep attachment to the partner
- Excellent management of a business
- A feeling of comfort in trips and moves
- Protection of and care for those close to him
- Confidence in and fidelity to husband/wife
- Responsibility in partnership and business
- Success in relations with the state and with superiors
- An attachment to sexual intimacy with the partner
- A warm, caring atmosphere within the family and the business
An unfavourable the Sun in the 7th house:
- Pressure on the partner
- Sexual depravity
- Humiliation of those close to him
- Defencelessness at a close distance of communication
- Passivity in the choice of partner
- An absence of enthusiasm in business or in one’s own work
- An absence of fidelity to those close to him
- A painful perception of closeness with people
Health:
The 7th house rules the kidneys and the intestines.
Problems with the Sun in the 7th house give autoimmune diseases in the intestines and the kidneys. The integrity of these organs may also be disturbed (ruptures, erosions, ulcers and so on). It almost always means a displacement of the position of the kidneys or the intestines. Often there are problems with the lumbar region of the spine: neuralgia, rheumatic pains, protrusions, damage to the discs and so on.
Conclusion:
The placement of the Sun in the 7th house creates hardness in partnership, which is not very highly valued in the Vedic tradition. Such people often suffer themselves from their own behaviour. At times they simply cannot open up and say everything they want to their partner. This negative is compensated by a high level of attachment and fidelity. Such people can always and everywhere be relied upon. In a word, everything has its price. If you want a faithful person — put up at times with his/her pressure and imperiousness.
