Rahu and Ketu are known as aprakasha, the shadow planets. Therefore the classical texts give no description of the placement of these planets in the signs of the zodiac. Since their nature is shadowy, Rahu and Ketu often take on the properties of the lords of the sign in which they are placed. In doing so one must look at how the lord of the sign in which Rahu and Ketu are placed is himself placed. Ketu in Aries — the positive: innate independence, healthy ambition, a developed personality in every sense, an ability to attain the goal set, correct Spiritual bearings.

The karmic task with Rahu placed in Libra — Ketu in Aries

The presence of Ketu in the impulsive sign of Aries says that martian tendencies and talents manifest naturally in the person. He practised this in the past and was concentrated on himself. Therefore the basis of such a person's character is made up of such qualities of Aries as independence, self-expression, initiative, innovation, impulsiveness, an inclination to struggle and rivalry.

Ketu feels good in Aries, since it partly has the qualities of Mars. This means that Ketu will not cause any particular troubles in this sign in its own period or sub-period, except in those cases where Ketu is burdened with bad aspects.

However, this placement is quite inflammable, since Ketu is a fiery planet and Aries a fiery sign. Both Ketu and Aries symbolise unconscious primordial forces, and therefore such an individual's actions will not always be guided by logic and reason. Such a person may fall into extreme anger, have unusual ideas, tastes or personal qualities. If these energies work in a creative key, good inventiveness will be observed.

Rahu in Libra gives high diplomacy. In this life the person will try to develop the indications of Libra — balance, harmony, sociability, a sense of justice, partnership relations.
