Mercury in Gemini is a blessing. One must look at which house it is in; for example, in the 10th house it means success in a career. This is communications; such people have good connections; Mercury gives success, especially if it is in a kendra or a trikona. Mercury will give much that is good, a talent for literature and for the art of oratory. All the mercurial qualities will be vividly manifested, humour included. These people type very quickly.
But the Shastras say that such people cannot always be honest, though they can always envelop you with their very soft speech and can speak very tenderly and pleasantly. A healthy cunning. The classics say that they have several marriages (but do look at the 7th house), since it is considered that Gemini natives are inclined to several serious liaisons.

In passion and ignorance the person may be cunning and deceptive; there are many card sharps with this placement, but where one has to play quickly. Gemini is a sign that does not dispose one to slow, deliberate thinking.

19.39. If Buddha is in Mithuna, then the person will be skilful, will know how to speak in an attractive manner, will be the son of two mothers, with a charming appearance, and will be happy, possessing a house and excellent food.
Commentary: Gemini is Mercury's own sign. Therefore here Buddha manifests its karakattvas [significations] to a large degree. For this reason the author speaks of such a person as skilful, skilled in conversation, speaking attractively and having a charming appearance. Two mothers, that is, one the real mother and the other a stepmother, can occur only if Mercury, being the ruler of the 4th house, is under an exceedingly malefic influence, and the Moon is deprived of strength.
