«The Moon in Vishakha gives birth to those who envy other people’s wealth, who are stingy, who possess a striking appearance, who know how to set out their thoughts intelligibly, who earn money without any particular effort and who love to sow discord between people» (Varahamihira).
General indications: the symbol of Vishakha is a triumphal gateway decorated with a wreath of leaves, and its deity is Indragni — a pair of gods, one of whom is the head and commander of the celestials, and the other the divine fire.
Both the symbol and the deity call to mind images of success, triumph and sole power. Vishakha is called upon to conquer; it is aimed exclusively at the rout of the enemy. Purposefulness is one of the key qualities of this nakshatra, but when only the outward side of life becomes the goal, a person may begin to believe that the coveted goal justifies any means. Vishakha people may become dictators (both good and evil, depending on their character).
