Rahu in Pisces

Rahu in Pisces: religious, well-mannered, a connoisseur of art. Losses connected with thefts and fires are possible, the loss of relatives, troubles from the authorities. The descriptions given should not be taken as the ultimate truth. Conjunctions with other planets, aspects, the status of Rahu's dispositor, its position relative to the Lagna and especially relative to the Moon may introduce substantial corrections into the interpretations. (Sri Govind Swarup Agarwal)

Rahu and Ketu are known as aprakasha, the shadow planets. Therefore the classical texts give no description of the placement of these planets in the signs of the zodiac. Since their nature is shadowy, Rahu and Ketu often take on the properties of the lords of the sign in which they are placed. In doing so one must look at how the lord of the sign in which Rahu and Ketu are placed is himself placed. If he is strong, then the possibilities of the shadow planets will also be great, and vice versa. (Indubala)

The karmic task with Rahu placed in Pisces — Ketu in Virgo

Ketu in the sign of Virgo gives the person a clear understanding of all the questions connected with the 6th house: health, hygiene, healing, purification practices, attention to details, discipline, analysis, routine activity, service, structure, order (the structuring and ordering of information), organisation and a striving for perfection.

People with such a placement of Ketu passed through the school of the sign of Virgo in a past life, and therefore in this life they try to put everything around them in order. But their striving for cleanliness, order and perfection may take extreme forms. Therefore this may make the person a hypochondriac, that is, a person with a manic striving for cleanliness or of an excessively critical nature. Such people may lose themselves in details. Virgo does not give the person the ability to balance things, but endows him with a sense of measure. This sense of measure can regulate the above-mentioned inclinations of Virgo.

Ketu symbolises the past, and therefore the influence of the sign of Virgo must be overcome rather than indulged in this life. However, they must set an example to others, demonstrating the wisdom contained in the esoteric sign of Virgo.

The presence of Rahu in Pisces implies that in this life the person must develop within himself the qualities of the sign of Pisces: all-embracing consciousness, abstract thinking, imagination, spontaneity, fantasy, intuition, inspiration, compassion, idealisation (utopianism).

Although this is difficult, it is possible. For example, a musician learns to play from notes (these are the marks of Virgo), but in the end he must move on to spontaneous, natural performance (this is a mark of Pisces).

Such a combination of Rahu-Ketu gives people of the following orientations: medics, healers, artists, mediums, workers in charitable and medical (pharmaceutical) organisations, workers in the cinema. (Everything where creative fantasy and intuition are required.)

The placement of Mercury points to past talents, and the placement of Jupiter shows the sphere of new possibilities in this life.

For Ketu, Virgo is a neutral sign, and therefore in the period and sub-periods of Ketu what will be observed is not so much material prosperity as a spiritual understanding of reality.

For Rahu, Pisces is a neutral sign, but the period of Rahu may give good material fruits if other supporting factors are present in the chart. Rahu cannot do great harm in Pisces, except in cases where there are other bad aspects to this sign. Moreover, this harm will concern the living indications of the house in which the badly aspected Rahu is placed.

Rahu in Pisces (the last sign of the Zodiac) may mean the summing up of karma and an understanding of the path leading to liberation.

If Rahu draws out the negative side of Pisces, this may engender a radical religious fundamentalist.

Examples: Queen Victoria acquired an enormous empire thanks to the presence of Rahu in Pisces in the 11th house. Rahu in Pisces gives the energy of expansion, but in her horoscope this principle worked only on the material level, since it was connected with Mars and Saturn. Ketu in Virgo in the 5th house  manifested as the puritan disposition corresponding to that epoch.

On the other hand, Osho manifested the philosophical aspect of this placement (Rahu in the 11th house in Pisces). He clearly surpassed the puritan tendency of Virgo from a past life and demonstrated the expansive nature of Rahu by his entire way of life.

Rahu in Pisces and Ketu in Virgo: the unquenchable passion of Rahu sends the person into an ocean of fantasies. It makes the person have dreams that are hard to fulfil and unreal. Some people may become dependent on alcohol or drugs, which in their view help them to come closer to their dream. In a past life they were very pragmatic and meticulous. In this life this trait of character pursues them. Nevertheless, having grown weary of this pragmatism, the person strives to escape into a world of fantasies and to find himself a spiritual path. Therefore we see in such people a great interest in religion and spiritual practices. Such people easily reach a high level of concentration in meditation and easily gain access to the higher energy channels. This combination is not for a workaholic from whom continuous, monotonous work is expected. It is hard for them to find answers to life's questions with an analytical mind. They need to work in a field where they can embody their fantasies and dreams in life. (Mahesh Dharmadasa)
