Saturn in the 6th house: This placement of Saturn is quite unusual; it has its good and bad sides. These people may serve a great deal and have high qualifications in several fields of activity. They may find work for themselves in overseas lands or in the economic field, connected with construction, rent and so on. They are stubborn and need to reduce their own pride. Saturn in the sixth house: Persistent, quarrelsome. It is considered that malefics in the 6th house give favourable results. Nevertheless, Saturn gives good results here only when it is strong. These people are very confident in their own rightness; the person wants others to do the same as he does. They consider that there can be no other paths to achieving success, only their path is the one and true one. They are very tense and serious, thinking about work all the time. They have no time to relax. Saturn in the 6th gives various difficulties and problems from enemies, but if Saturn is strong, the person will be able to overcome these problems. All the ancient authors write that Saturn in the 6th house gives the strength to defeat one's enemies. This already says that he has enemies. If Saturn is weak, it will be difficult for the person to withstand these enemy forces. It gives tormenting illnesses. If Saturn is under the aspect of malefics, health deteriorates greatly. The person is often troubled by bloating of the abdomen. Here Saturn brings illnesses of the joints, the kidneys, the gastrointestinal tract and the sexual organs. The person has little interest in intimate life, since Saturn aspects the houses of sexual enjoyment (the 8th, 12th). Difficult relations with subordinates. A damaged Saturn gives court proceedings and sends the person into a debt pit. When transiting Saturn comes into this house, his subordinates (if there are any) may develop illnesses and unpleasant situations. Also in this period there may be losses of domestic animals. Comments:
The 6th house is a house of upachaya and a dusthana, therefore the placement of Saturn in it will bring both good and bad results. Victory over enemies and a good financial position should be expected. Bhrigu Muni emphasises that two malefic planets, such as Saturn and Mars, being placed in a house of upachaya, will lead to the formation of a raja yoga, the result of which will be prosperity and fame. Besides, as the ayush-karaka, Saturn in a dusthana will cause certain illnesses. Influencing the 3rd house, Saturn will give small intellectual abilities.
The presence of Saturn as the lord of a favourable house in a dusthana will be negatively reflected in the characteristics of the house that Saturn owns. However, if Saturn is the lord of the 6th, 8th or 12th houses, very favourable results should be expected.

“Brihat Jataka” — the owner of the horoscope will be mighty, but his enemies will prove stronger than him.
“Phaladipika” — wealth, pride and immoderation in food.
“Saravali” — passionateness, beauty, boldness, anger, unfriendliness, victory over enemies, an excessive attachment to food.
“Chamatkar Chintamani” — the owner of the horoscope will own horned cattle, will defeat enemies and will suffer the loss of his uncle.

The results of the placement of Saturn (Shani) in the 6th house
In the case of the position of Shani in the 6th Bhava the person will defeat his enemies, will value the qualities of other people, will listen to the Brahmins, will possess a strong body and a strong fire of digestion (that is, a good appetite).
Comments: Almost all authors on astrology regard the placement of Shani [Saturn] in the 6th Bhava [house] as giving a favourable result. The point is that Vedic astrologers consider that malefic Grahas [planets] give favourable results if they occupy a malefic Bhava. Therefore Shani, placed in the 6th Bhava, will give such results as protection from thieves, income from the breeding of horned cattle, victory over enemies, prosperity, a multitude of servants and followers, the patronage and favour of the king. Because of Shani in the 6th Bhava the person suffers from illnesses of Vata (Wind). If Shani is in the 6th Bhava in a weakened state and has any connection with malefic Grahas, then it will give exceedingly negative results, because with such a placement the person's health receives many malefic influences; the person will not get good results in his profession and will suffer from losses because of his servants.
