Saturn in the 11th house: This person has yogic power and exerts a strong but kind influence on others. These people may leave those who are close to them and find fortune in another place. They receive profit by means of publishing activity, importing, activity connected with agriculture and with the natural products of the earth. Saturn in the eleventh house: The 11th house is considered the very best place for Saturn. All planets give favourable results in the 11th house. It has already been mentioned that King Ravana placed all the planets in the 11th house in the chart of his son. Maharishi Bhrigu, Varahamihira, Mantreshwara, Kalyanavarma, Bhatta Narayana, Vasishtha, Garga Muni, Parashara Muni, Vaidyanatha, Jageshwara, Gopala Ratnakara and many other classical authors considered that Saturn in the 11th house gives wealth. If it is in a favourable sign, the person will easily be able to realise his dreams. Especially in the dasha period of Saturn money, real estate, fame will come to him. But, for those born under the lagna of movable signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) the 11th house is a maraka [here the badhaka house is meant — editor's note]. And therefore for such people Saturn may bring poor health and death in its dasha (period). At the same time it does not prevent one from obtaining material comfort. The maraka house gives only poor health.

If Saturn is in a good sign, the person will be surrounded by noble people and he will receive support and various kinds of help from his friends. If Saturn is in the sign of an enemy and under the aspect of malefics, then he will have to experience losses and deceit from friends. Saturn in the 11th is considered not a good placement for children. The person may have no children, and if he has any, then troubles may occur for the children. Saturn (Shani) in the 11th house

Saturn in the 11th house: high income, fame, popularity, authority. Disappointments in love relationships, insincere friends and acquaintances. If an aspect of the Moon is present, the person may become a doctor. An aspect of the Sun foretells success in politics. A person with the placement of Saturn in the 1st, 2nd, 10th or 11th house of the horoscope has abilities for conducting a business providing various kinds of services: private security, personnel selection, personnel management, contracting firms and so on. “Bhrigu Sutra” 7.46-48

If Saturn is placed in the 11th house, the owner of the horoscope will become very rich, but a multitude of obstacles will arise on his path. He will be the owner of landed property and a favourite of the government. When Saturn is in its own sign or in the sign of exaltation, a maha-bhagya yoga is formed, granting education, success, prosperity and the conveniences of all kinds of transport.

Comments:

All planets, whether benefic or malefic, manifest very good characteristics when placed in the 11th house, if they are not the lords of the 6th, 8th or 12th houses. The 11th house is the strongest of the houses of upachaya, where the placement of inauspicious planets brings the best results.

With a favourable Saturn in the 11th house the owner of the horoscope will be characterised by loyalty, devotion, honesty, reliability, sincerity, altruism and an ability to concentrate. Very strong dhana yogas arise in the following cases:

• the sign of Aries rises, Saturn is placed in Aquarius in the 11th house as the lord of the 10th and 11th houses;
• the sign of Taurus rises, Saturn is in Pisces as the lord of the 9th and 10th houses;
• the sign of Libra rises, Saturn is a yoga-karaka and the lord of the 4th and 5th houses;
• the sign of Sagittarius rises, Saturn is exalted in the 11th house as the lord of the 2nd house;
• the sign of Capricorn rises, Saturn is in Scorpio as the lord of the 1st and 2nd houses;
• the sign of Aquarius rises, Saturn is in Sagittarius as the lord of the lagna.

Other opinions concerning Saturn in the 11th house:

“Brihat Jataka” — wealth.

“Phaladipika” — the master of the horoscope will be bold, healthy, rich, will have a long life and will own immovable property.

“Saravali” — the same characteristics as in the “Phaladipika”.

“Chamatkar Chintamani” — a person who has Saturn placed in the 11th house of the horoscope will be bold and always rich.

Note: All the classical texts confirm the opinion of the “Bhrigu Sutra” that Saturn gives very favourable characteristics when placed in the 11th house.

The results of the placement of Saturn (Shani) in the 11th house

If Shani stands in the 11th Bhava at the time of birth, then the person will receive profit from black horses, sapphires, wool, elephants and the like.

Comments: All the learned authors of astrology say that Shani [Saturn] in the 11th Bhava will give exceedingly favourable results. Indeed, Shani, being in this Bhava, will make the person rich, long-living, fearless, he will have profit from projects (plans), a stable mind, health and there will be no sickliness. His trading or professional activity is always advantageous, since Shani in the natural birth chart is the ruler of the 10th and 11th Bhavas, the ruler of the sphere of action and of the sphere of profit. Saturn in the 11th house aspects the 5th house, therefore this is not favourable for the happiness of getting a son.
