Saturn is debilitated in Aries. The person is dissatisfied with life, malicious, irritable, deluded, lost, touchy, fault-finding. Saturn holds back the self-assurance that Aries possesses. Therefore these people cannot realistically assess their strength and take risky decisions. They lose their chance through a lack of confidence in their own powers and consider that life does not give them what they want. But when life offers what they want, the person takes a step back. In childhood they are brought up without particular attention and love from their parents. In the initial stages of life they have to pass along a hard road. These people meet obstacles and failures at every step, and from this they become malicious and fall into deep depression. Family life does not turn out successfully. They find themselves a less attractive and less successful partner. In old age they remain alone. If Jupiter is strong, success will come to the person in time. Commentary: Here Shani [Saturn] is placed in its Rashi [sign] of debilitation. The character of Shani and that of the Rashi Mesha [Aries] are completely opposite to each other. Therefore qualities will develop in the person that will hinder success. Thus he will become lazy, with an irritable character, will quarrel with others, and his energy and effectiveness will be lost.
The degree to which the results mentioned above manifest: If all three — 1) the Rashi [sign], 2) the ruler of the Rashi [sign] and 3) the Graha [planet] — are endowed with strength, then the full result will be obtained. The lesser or greater degree of the results can be learned by studying the position of the ruler of the Rashi: whether it is in debilitation, in exaltation, in its own Rashi, whether it is combust and so on.
