A connection in the chart of the owners of the 5th and 7th houses says that the person will not be faithful to his spouse.- A conjunction of the 5th ruler anywhere with its dispositor foretells many children.
- The presence of any kind of connection between the 5th and 9th houses shows spirituality. The fifth bhava is responsible for Bhakti, worship and mantras, the 9th house — for religious activity and noble deeds in past incarnations, and a connection between these two houses predisposes one to asceticism.
- The lord of the 5th house in the nakshatra Hasta creates difficulties with conception or with the birth of a child.
- The children will be disobedient if the ruler of the 5th house is in the sign of Capricorn.
- The placement of Venus in the 5th house contributes to musicality, and Jupiter develops an interest in law or inclines one towards a legal education.
- The Sun, Venus and Saturn in the 5th cause disorders of the urogenital system.
- A conjunction of Jupiter with the Moon in the 5th house in a woman's chart at first torments the woman with a series of miscarriages, abortions and other troubles, and then rewards her with a daughter. In a man's chart this combination has a similar effect on his spouse.

- A benefic planet (or its aspect) and a favourable sign in the 5th house;
- A connection of the ruler of the 5th house with a strong Mercury;
- The 5th ruler is in a good sign, and Jupiter — in a kendra or a trikona;
- Mercury occupies the 5th house, and the lord of this house is well placed in a kendra;
- The owner of the 5th house in the company of a benefic planet dwells in an angular house;
- Jupiter or Venus in the 5th bhava gives a keen and perceptive mind;
- The position of the Moon in the 2nd sign from the Navamsha Lagna;
- The lord of the 5th house is placed in exaltation or between two benefic planets;
- An aspect of Mars on the 5th house contributes to the development of good mental abilities.
Indications of weak mental abilities
- The Moon and Saturn in the Lagna opposite Mars in the 7th.
- A conjunction of the Moon with Mars in the Lagna in opposition to Mercury in the 7th.
- The Moon and the Lagnesha are afflicted by Mars.
- Mars is hemmed in between the Sun and the Moon.
- When the Lagnesha receives an aspect of Saturn from the 5th house, and the 5th ruler falls into the surroundings of malefics, the person's intellect cannot be called high.
- The lord of the 5th house falls in the D-60 chart into an unfavourable sign.
- Saturn, Rahu or Gulika in the 5th house, plus an affliction of the lord of the 5th house.
Note: a strong and well-placed Mercury neutralises the above-mentioned combinations.
Combinations of sportsmen
- An exchange of signs of the owners of the 5th and 6th houses.
- Exaltation of Mars in the Lagna.
- A direct connection of Mars with the Ascendant and the 6th bhava.
- The lord of the 6th is in the 5th house, or aspects it.
Note: A good connection of the rulers of the 5th and 6th houses and Mars makes the person a strong sportsman.
