If Mars is conjunct with the lord of the 11th house, the owner of the horoscope will be a king. When Mars is conjunct with two favourable planets, the owner of the horoscope will rule a great kingdom, and his brothers will prosper.

Comments:

The 11th house is the best upachaya house, where the placement of any planet brings large incomes and a high position. Besides this, a person who has Mars occupying such a favourable position in the horoscope is resolute and courageous, has a strong will and can control his feelings. The 11th house is the house of desire and dreams, and the placement of Mars in it will bring the owner of the horoscope the fulfilment of his plans, the satisfaction of his ambitions, and success in all undertakings and ventures. However such a position of Mars will be reflected on the person’s sociability. Because of his reserved manner of behaviour he will have few close friends. He will have a good reputation and will acquire influence in his circle. If Mars is in its own signs, then its positive characteristics will be revealed in full measure. But the best placement of Mars in the 11th house is its presence in its sign of exaltation — Capricorn. In that case the rising sign will be Pisces, and Mars, forming a dhana yoga, will be the lord of the 2nd and 9th houses.

“Brihat Jataka” — wealth.

“Phaladipika” — happiness, wealth, valour.

“Saravali” — good qualities of character, happiness, valour and wealth. Happiness in children.

“Chamatkar Chintamani” — Mars in the 11th house is formidable for the children and the enemies of the owner of the horoscope. A person with such a placement of Mars in his birth chart will amass wealth by selling elephants, cows and horses. He will be very miserly and in time will lose his fortune. But even if misfortunes pursue him, he will all the same consider himself happy and fortunate.

Note: Apart from the “Chamatkar Chintamani” all the authoritative sources agree with the “Bhrigu Sutra” that Mars gives good results when it is in the 11th house. The view of the “Chamatkar Chintamani” regarding the loss of fortune is not based on logic. Mars from the 11th house will influence the 5th, which will serve as the cause of the loss of children or of troubles with them. And on this question the opinion of the “Chamatkar Chintamani” seems to us closer to the truth than the opinion of the “Saravali”.

THE RESULTS OF THE PLACEMENT OF MANGALA IN THE 11TH BHAVA

With the placement of Mangala in the 11th Bhava the person will possess copper, corals, gold, red cloths, an excellent means of transport and the patronage of the government, and celebrations will often be held in his house.

Comments: The 11th Bhava [house] is connected with the acquisition of wealth. If Mangala is in the Rashi of a benefic Graha [planet] or if it is connected with a benefic Graha, then the person will earn much wealth by trading in copper, corals, gold, means of transport or the like. He may take a very great risk in his business, and will obtain a good income from agriculture and from the purchase and sale of plots of land. Such a person will grow rich thanks to his own skills and abilities, bravery and diligence (industriousness); he does not like petty trade or business. If Mangala is placed in a Rashi of debilitation or if it is near a Graha in debilitation, then the person will not distinguish between just and dishonest means; he is ready to earn wealth by any means — decent or not. When Mangala is placed in the 11th Bhava, then its aspect on the 5th Bhava will bring harm to the health of the offspring. Besides this, this placement is considered unfavourable for the health and longevity of the person’s elder brother, since the aspect of Mangala on the 6th Bhava will worsen the longevity of the elder brother. If Mangala moreover receives the influence of a malefic Graha, then the elder brother will not live long.
