Jupiter in the 10th house
The results given by Jupiter in the tenth house of the horoscope
Jupiter in the 10th house: A very good place for Jupiter. Step by step success will come to him. Often they occupy high posts where their advice plays a decisive role: this may be a teacher, the director of an educational institution, an adviser, a deputy, an educator and so on. He will have rapid career growth if the mahadasha of Jupiter comes at an active age. He is not only able to give advice. He is also a good organiser. Wealth, real estate, fame and reputation will come to him. If it is in its own sign or in exaltation, these indications are strengthened still further, since Hamsa yoga and Amala yoga are formed. (Mahesh Dharmadasa)
Jupiter (Guru) in the 10th house
Jupiter in the 10th house. A righteous and virtuous character, talent and abilities, the respect of those around, honour, a good reputation, an inclination towards charity, high patronage, wealth, fame. (Indubala)
Jupiter in the 10th house: a high and important position in society, honour and respect, fame, happiness. A developed sense of duty. If Jupiter is in a kendra from the Lagna, the person will feel good in the middle of life. Jupiter in the 1st, 2nd, 10th or 11th house says that the person will obtain material well-being with the help of elder relatives or by working in a financial institution. “Bhrigu Sutra” 5.46-49
The owner of the horoscope will be religious, righteous, very able and talented, and will study the sacred scriptures (the literal translation is — “the Bhagavad Gita”). He will have a good reputation and great honour. If the lord of the 10th house is strong, the owner of the horoscope will be able to perform religious rites of a high class. When the lord of the 10th house is joined with a malefic planet, obstacles will arise in the professional career, and a person with such a horoscope will commit bad deeds and will suffer in the financial sphere.
Comments:
According to the sutras, the placement of Jupiter is very beneficial for the improvement of the indications of the 10th house. Being in a kendra from the lagna, the rising sign, Jupiter creates amala yoga, the result of which will be wide fame, successes in the professional sphere, a good character and so on. This yoga was discussed in more detail in chapter 4, “Mercury in the 10th house”. Being in its own sign or in the sign of exaltation, Jupiter forms hamsa yoga. Dhana yogas, the yogas of wealth, will arise in the cases of Virgo rising (Jupiter is the lord of the 4th and 7th houses) and of Sagittarius rising (Jupiter is the lord of the 1st and 4th houses).
Other opinions concerning Jupiter in the 10th house:
“Phaladipika” — respect, wealth and the patronage of the king or the government.
“Saravali” — all the efforts of a person who has Jupiter occupying the 10th house will be crowned with success. He will be happy, rich, respected, will enjoy the trust of those around him and will own means of transport.
“Chamatkar Chintamani” — a flag will fly over the house of the owner of the horoscope (a sign of a high position). He will surpass his ancestors in fame and good reputation. His house will be adorned with paintings. But he will not be happy with his children.
Note: All the sources cited above agree with the “Bhrigu Sutra” concerning the favourable characteristics of the placement of Jupiter in the 10th house. The assertion of the “Chamatkar Chintamani” about unhappiness in children can be explained by the fact that the 10th house is the sixth to the 5th house. Being the putra-karaka, the indicator of children, and being in the 10th house, Jupiter may speak of illnesses of the children of the owner of the horoscope.

The results of the placement of Jupiter (Guru) in the 10th house
The teacher of the gods — Guru, being in the 10th Bhava, endows the person with the signs of power (an umbrella or a chair with a canopy, and so on), that is, this means that the person is a high official, possesses an excellent means of transport, is happy thanks to friends, a son and a wife, victorious and famous.
Comments: Guru [Jupiter], occupying the 10th Bhava [house], aspects the 2nd, 4th and 6th Bhavas, and in this way influences these Bhavas beneficially, thanks to which the person possesses wealth, prosperity, a large spacious house and enjoys good health. Guru is a sattvic graha [planet]. Therefore the atmosphere in the person's house is sattvic. The person himself also performs worthy and respected deeds, thanks to which he is full of valour and energy. He enjoys a good reputation in the performance of the Yajna <Yagya>. Such a person is considered first in the performance of beneficial deeds for society. Besides this, a person with Jupiter in the 10th house is successful in all spheres of activity, possesses good behaviour and is devoted to his duties.
