The Moon in the 7th house: A favourable Moon here gives an early marriage and a faithful, beautiful wife. In the marriage there will be amicable, close relations. The Moon changes constantly. Therefore small quarrels may occur. On the whole, they retain good relations. It is said that such mothers have much milk. Such a placement gives a materially well-provided family life. Such a placement in a woman’s chart makes the woman very attractive. A damaged Moon in the 7th house may mean a parting or the early death of the wife. (Mahesh Dharmadasa)
“Bhrigu Sutra” 2.41-46
A person who has the Moon in the 7th house of the horoscope will marry by the age of 32. He will be sweet-spoken and will be reputed to be a lover of women, which will lead him to certain diseases and even to an operation. The owner of the horoscope will suffer from a defect of vision or a disease of the eyes. High patronage awaits him. A strong lord of the 7th house says that the owner of the horoscope will have two wives, while a weak, waning Moon in the 7th house speaks of the loss of the wife. If the Moon is strong, full or in its own sign, the owner of the horoscope will have one wife. He will obtain many worldly enjoyments.
Comments:
The 7th house is a house of the quadrant, and the presence in it of a benefic Moon speaks of the person’s positive karma and, accordingly, allows him to have “material goods and enjoyments”. The late marriage of which Bhrigu Muni speaks, troubles in marriage or the death of the wife are possible with Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn or Aquarius rising, for which the Moon is an unfavourable lord. In this case the characteristics of the 7th house also suffer: partnership and connections in business, commercial activity. The Moon is a feminine planet of changeable nature. Being in the 7th house, it influences the lagna, the house of the personality, therefore the owner of such a placement of the Moon in the horoscope will be subject to frequent changes of mood and of attachments, will be a “lover of women”, jealous and excessively emotional. If the Moon is not benefic in the horoscope, then the medical characteristics of the 1st and 7th houses will suffer: vision, the kidneys and the sexual organs.
Other opinions concerning the Moon (Chandra) in the 7th house:
“Brihat Jataka” — a person will be envious and completely immersed in love intrigues if the Moon in his horoscope occupies the 7th house.
“Phaladipika” — happiness and mutual understanding in marriage.
“Saravali” — a person having a favourable Moon in the 7th house will be handsome, passionate, well-behaved and happy. Poverty and suffering from various diseases await the owner of a weak or waning Moon in the horoscope.
“Chamatkar Chintamani” — happiness in marriage and a prosperous, flourishing business await the owner of the horoscope. He will be greedy, and because of the weakness of his character his enemies will gain the victory.
Note: The classical texts give various opinions concerning the presence of the Moon in the 7th house of the horoscope, which is explained by its changeable nature. The “Chamatkar Chintamani” adds greed to the characteristics of the owner of the horoscope. Evidently the influence of the Moon as a feminine, accumulating and preserving planet on the 1st house leads to the arising of this quality.

THE RESULTS OF THE PLACEMENT OF CHANDRA IN THE 7TH BHAVA
As a consequence of the placement of Chandra in the 7th Bhava the person will be endowed with extreme pride and will be sick with love (will be lustful), he will have a lean body, and will be devoid of wealth, politeness and humility.
Comments: If Chandra is placed in the 7th Bhava, then the qualities, character, beauty and health of the person’s wife may be predicted on the basis of the correlation of the karakatvas [meanings] of Chandra and of the Rashi [sign] in the 7th Bhava. Because of Chandra in the 7th Bhava the person is under the influence of his wife; he attaches great importance to his wife’s opinion when taking important decisions. If in this Bhava Chandra is in a watery Rashi [sign], then the person’s wife will become very stout immediately after youth; and in his home there is an atmosphere of sweet love and affection. If Chandra is in an airy Rashi [sign], then it will give the person love affairs with many women.
