Saturn in the 7th house: These people may get a spouse of dubious reputation, or a partner from other lands. They make many journeys, and are occupied in various jobs. On their path they meet black-market dealers and may be drawn into illegal activity. The classical texts mention that such a person is diplomatic, suffers from colic and from poor hearing. Saturn in the seventh house: For every planet there is a certain house where it becomes very strong (dik-bala). Saturn becomes dik-bala in the 7th house. Therefore many authors consider this a good place for Saturn. Nevertheless, Saturn in the 7th house does not give favourable results connected with family life. The person is subjected to humiliation from women. Such people cannot forget their past relationships and often recall them. They have a late marriage. The person finds an unattractive spouse with an age difference. He falls under the power of his spouse, and tense relations develop between them. However the relationship may turn out, they are ready to endure long and much in the relationship in order to create the appearance of a prosperous family. Often their relationship ends in divorce. Poor health of the spouse. But if a strong Saturn is in the 7th house in exaltation (in Libra) or under the aspect of Jupiter, the person will be able to find an attractive partner and to create a happy family. If Saturn is in the 7th house under the aspect of malefics (especially Mars), such a placement is considered very harmful for marriage and for the health of the spouse. Saturn in the 7th house gives success far from the home town. Partnership relations and business abroad develop well for them. For those born under the lagna of dual signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces) the 7th house is a ‘Maraka house’. Therefore in the dasha period of Saturn health may deteriorate. Saturn (Shani) in the 7th house
Saturn in the 7th house: (receives directional strength): weak potency, immoral deeds, financial troubles, an absence of peace in the home; a frequently ailing, unattractive, but faithful wife. Such a position promises success in politics and diplomacy, fame and popularity, but brings discord into family life. A connection between Saturn, Rahu and Mars in the 2nd or 7th houses creates obstacles at the beginning of the life path, compels hard labour, deprives one of pleasure from work and causes irritability. The owner of such a placement of Saturn will have a thin wife, and he himself — bodily defects or vices. He will give himself up to debauchery with prostitutes. Misfortunes await him in life. If Saturn is placed in the sign of exaltation or its own, or is in conjunction with Ketu, the owner of the horoscope will have intimacy with many women. When Saturn is joined with Mars, the owner of the horoscope will kiss the male sexual organ with his lips. A person in whose horoscope Saturn is joined with Venus will have extramarital affairs and will love to kiss the female sexual organs.
Comments:
The 7th house is the house of marriage and of sexual life. The presence of a malefic Saturn in it gives an inclination towards a frequent change of partners in search of ever greater sexual enjoyments. These negative characteristics will manifest especially in a conjunction of Saturn with Mars, Ketu and Venus. In the medical aspect the 7th house characterises the kidneys, the bladder and the sexual organs. Therefore, by causing sexual dissoluteness, Saturn in the 7th house may cause illnesses of the sexual organs.
The 7th house describes the marriage partner, and also the business partner, and speaks of journeys abroad. Consequently, the owner of such a placement of Saturn in the horoscope may enter into marriage with a foreigner. An affliction of the house of marriage may indicate a spouse with a stained reputation. The business partner of the owner of the horoscope will be endowed with an equally dubious character, and may draw him into illegal activity.
From the 7th house Saturn influences the 9th, 1st and 4th houses. The consequence of this malefic influence will be immorality, coldness and cruelty, sickliness, difficulties in obtaining an education and little property. But in the cases of Aries, Taurus and Libra rising, Saturn will be in the 7th house as the lord of the 10th and 11th, of the 9th and 10th, of the 4th and 5th houses respectively and will lead to the arising of strong dhana yogas. In the 7th house Saturn is in a kendra to the lagna, and its placement in the sign of exaltation or its own forms a shashi yoga, the results of which have already been described in this chapter.
Other opinions concerning Saturn in the 7th house:
“Brihat Jataka” — humiliation from women.
“Phaladipika” — intimacy with women of dubious behaviour, poverty, misfortunes and journeys without purpose.
“Saravali” — the owner of the horoscope will be sickly and will suffer the loss of his wife. He will be of a dissolute disposition, poor and unattractive.
“Chamatkar Chintamani” — good friends, stable wealth and a decisive wife of firm character. Both the owner of the horoscope and his spouse will be sickly.
Note: All the treatises, excluding the “Chamatkar Chintamani”, agree with the “Bhrigu Sutra” that a person in whose horoscope Saturn occupies the 7th house will have an immoral character and an excessive inclination to indulge his sexual desires.

The results of the placement of Saturn (Shani) in the 7th house
With the position of Shani in the 7th Bhava the person is weak in body because of illnesses, he will earn his living by low means, will live in the company of low (ignoble) people and will be unhappy because of his wife, his home and his wealth.
Comments: Shani [Saturn] in the 7th Bhava [house] is unfavourable for the health of the person's wife. Shani in this Bhava leads to a lack of enthusiasm (energy). Because of the aspect of Shani on the Lagna there arises a probability that the person's body will be exceedingly weak. Such a person has only one source of means of subsistence.
According to Acharya Varaha Mihira the native will often experience disrespect from women. Like Mangala [Mars], Shani in the 7th Bhava is also unfavourable for the health and longevity of the wife. Besides this, his wife will often be oppressed, unhappy, disappointed and in despair. Saturn in the 7th house will deprive one of cooperation in the profession. But if Shani is strong in the 7th Bhava and is connected with the rulers of beneficial Bhavas, then the person will be happy from the help of his wife, who has pure and simple thoughts and outlook. Shani in this Bhava obtains directional strength (Dig-Bala).
