Saturn in the 12th house: This leads to considerable expenses and difficulties in relationships. These people work persistently, but easily lose their position. They are interested in spiritual philosophy, but do not concentrate on their studies. At a later stage of their life they may become quite ascetic. In their life there are periods when they are put in prison, hospitalised or exiled. They usually have problems with their teeth and with their eyesight. They love solitude, keep their sinful actions secret and work persistently for the sake of some good cause. (Tom Hopke)
Saturn in the twelfth house: When the ‘Devas’ (the forces of light) learned that Ravana (the king of the Asuras) had placed all the planets in the 11th house of his son's natal chart, the frightened Devas asked Saturn to do something so that such a mighty person would not be born. Saturn said that he himself could change the person's destiny, and jumped into the 12th house. This explains how harmful Saturn in the 12th house can be. Such a Saturn brings heavy losses, unforeseen expenses, problems with the law, disappointments in love. The person constantly faces financial difficulties. Business, deals do not bring profit. The person must be very careful in the dasha/antardasha periods of Saturn. One extra step to the left may attract great troubles. In this period scandals, quarrels, disgrace, problems with the law, the payment of fines, court cases arise.
Not social people. They often go away from everyone and live in solitude. Sometimes they find themselves far from family and close ones. They prefer solitude, since in isolation they feel free and protected. Solitude helps them to think and to create. They are very clever and capable, but they do not want to be public figures. They prefer to work “behind the scenes”. A very bad placement for health. If Saturn is in a bad sign, the person may have chronic illnesses, injuries, accidents, harmful habits. In any case, with such a Saturn it is better to undertake corrective measures [upayas] for Saturn. Saturn was in the 12th house in the natal chart of Queen Victoria. When her husband (Prince Albert) died 20 years after the marriage, she was for about 10 years in depression and complete isolation. Saturn (Shani) in the 12th house
Saturn in the 12th house: unscrupulousness, many enemies, financial losses, sudden accidental expenditures, taking the bait of swindlers. Separation from close ones, an unhappy personal life, childlessness, sexual dysfunction; problems in old age, illnesses of the eyes and the feet. With Saturn in the 8th or 12th house squandering, conflicts with relatives, and discord in the family take place, especially in the sign of debilitation. If Saturn occupies the 12th house, success far from the native places awaits the person.
Saturn in the 12th house and the Sun in the 6th foretell frequent illnesses. Saturn, Mars, Rahu or Ketu in the 6th, 8th or 12th house in a watery sign (Cancer, Scorpio or Pisces) may lead to diabetes. (Shri Govind Swarup Agarwal)

An affliction of some part of the body will be present in the owner of the horoscope. His moral principles will be dubious. In the case of a conjunction of Saturn with a malefic planet poor eyesight is expected. If Saturn is joined with a benefic planet, the owner of the horoscope will have good eyesight. He will live a happy life, and after death will depart to the heavens. A person who has in his horoscope a conjunction of Saturn with a malefic planet in the 12th house will be poor, wasteful and after death hell awaits him.
Comments:
The 12th house is the strongest dusthana, and if Saturn is placed here as the lord of a favourable house, then the good indications of that house will be spoiled. Saturn from the 12th house, the house of losses and expenditures, influences the 2nd house and brings poverty, disappointment in life, restrictions and deprivations on the material plane. In this the saving aspect of Saturn's action is also expressed, since it makes the person reflect on the causes of his suffering and stimulates a striving towards spiritual perfection.
If there are certain additional indications in the horoscope, for example, a connection of the lords of the 1st and 6th houses or of the 1st and 8th houses and others, the owner of such a position of Saturn may be confined in a prison or a hospital. In the medical aspect Saturn in the 12th house causes illnesses of the teeth or problems with the eyesight (the influence on the 2nd house). Besides, the 12th house speaks of the person's next life, and Bhrigu Muni covers this question in detail, and the explanations for it are contained in the commentaries concerning the placement of the Moon in the 12th house. Nevertheless, very beneficial results may also manifest, when Saturn is placed in the 12th house as the lord of the 6th or 8th houses with the signs of Leo, Virgo, Gemini and Cancer rising, as has already been explained in the commentaries concerning Jupiter being in the 12th house.
Other opinions concerning Saturn in the 12th house:
“Brihat Jataka” — degradation’ of the personality, demotion in position.
“Phaladipika” — the owner of the horoscope will be poor, childless, shameless and foolish, some part of his body will be disfigured.
“Saravali” — wastefulness, cruelty, an inclination towards gossip, humiliation.
“Chamatkar Chintamani” — a person in whose horoscope Saturn is placed in the 12th house will have small eyes. He will attain fortune in journeys abroad, but will become known as shameless because of his deeds. If Saturn is the lord of the lagna, the owner of the horoscope will destroy his enemies.

The results of the placement of Saturn (Shani) in the 12th house
If at the time of birth Shani is placed in the 12th Bhava, the person will be merciless, exceedingly poor, unhappy because of too many expenses, sluggish (not energetic), will live in the company of low (ignoble) people, deprived of some organ and of happiness.
Comments: Shani [Saturn] in the 12th Bhava [house] is considered a cause of unhappiness and destitution. The presence of Shani in this Bhava may cause in the person the illness of weak eyesight, he has an excitable temperament, he is sluggish, insufficiently happy, dirty (immoral) and deprived of wealth. Besides this, a person with Saturn in the 12th house is often disposed in opposition to close people or opposes them.
