Rahu in the 7th and Ketu in the 1st house: Rahu in the 7th house means that the person in this life wants first of all to attain harmony in marriage. This is his priority. For this he is ready to sacrifice himself. He has no personal ambitions. His goal is to create a harmonious marriage and to live in harmony. In society they are recognised and appreciated. Rahu breaks traditions, wherever it is placed. Therefore such a person finds himself a partner who does not correspond to traditional notions. In this union there is some cause for criticism (on the part of society). Perhaps the person will find himself a partner of another nationality, religion, region, status. Such a person becomes strongly attached to his partner. These people consider their partner the very best in the world. They have very close relations with their partners. They understand each other at a word. It is considered that such couples have a long karmic bond. At the same time, Rahu does not forget to bring poor health to the spouse. Many authors consider that such a placement brings the early death of the spouse. But I think this happens when Rahu is under the aspect of malefics.
Some astrologers consider that Rahu gives favourable results when it is in female signs (Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn, Pisces). When Rahu is in female signs, the person enters into marriage early, and he will have a happy marriage. When Rahu is in male signs (Aries, Gemini, Leo, Libra, Sagittarius, Aquarius) the person will have to live through disharmony in marriage, since he is pursued by the bad deeds committed in a past life towards women. Besides the spouse, the 7th house also shows partners in business, in trade. A benefic Rahu here helps to expand business and to have contacts/deals with partners from various regions.
Ketu in the 1st house means that in a past life the person was occupied with his own development and did not pay the necessary attention to his spouse and partners. Ketu in the 1st house makes the person more isolated. This is a person who sits in a corner with a book in his hands. He prefers to be alone, away from society. He is constantly acquiring knowledge. These people love to criticise others and to give advice. Nevertheless, they feel lost. It is difficult for them to understand their own essence and purpose. Rahu in the 7th, Ketu in the 1st house: the karmic task
The peculiarity of this placement of Rahu-Ketu is that those around consider such a person wise. This comes from the presence of Rahu in the 7th, which is responsible for social status and reputation at the age of approximately 24-42 years, if there are no other afflicting factors.
Rahu highlights all the indications of the 7th house — harmony, relationships, love, passion, the marriage partner, long-term relationships, the sublimation of one's self, justice, manifest enemies, personal enterprise, image.
The 7th house symbolises that age when the person, having asserted himself, creates a family and along with it a certain constancy in life.
Rahu in the 7th house helps to create these relationships, which are nothing other than another way of understanding oneself.
If the other indications of the chart confirm it, then the spouse proves to be a more mature person and this gives fortune after the conclusion of the marriage. If Rahu works through its lower vibrations, this leads to misunderstanding and even a rupture of relations. As a rule, the main cause of quarrels in this case is the absence of a sense of measure in sex.
Professions with Rahu in the 7th house (work with people): consulting, psychology, management, project coordination; they prefer to conduct their own business rather than to work under someone else's direction.
Ketu in the 1st gives a short stature (if Ketu is very close to the degree of the Ascendant), heightens psychic sensitivity, and inclines the person to self-abasement. An aspect of or a yoga with Jupiter eases the problems of this placement of Ketu by 90%. A strong placement of the lord of the 1st house saves the situation.
Ketu in the 1st usually gives a poor appetite and unusual tastes and preferences in food. It has a tendency to direct energies inward and gives good chances of spiritual development. As a rule, spiritual transformation begins in the second half of life with the beginning of the period of Ketu.
Such a person needs to learn to be independent of relations with others. Usually such people feel their “I” only in communication with others. Alone with themselves they lose their “I” and to actualise their “I” they require company. Dependence on this tendency must be overcome. Otherwise such a person will suffer in solitude.

Two marriages await the owner of the horoscope. The first wife will die, and the second will suffer from a tumour. If Rahu or Ketu are joined with a benefic planet, one marriage is expected.
Other opinions concerning Rahu or Ketu in the 7th house:
“Phaladipika”: Rahu in the 7th house — — the owner of the horoscope will have an independent character and will lose his wealth and sexual power through relations with women. He will become a widower.
“Chamatkar Chintamani”: Rahu in the 7th house — the loss of the wife.
Note: Bhrigu Muni gives the same characteristics for the placement of Rahu and Ketu in various houses. His opinion is based on the fact that these planets are always in the seventh house from each other and both exert an influence on the house. However the other classical texts, apart from the “Brihat Jataka” and the “Saravali”, which do not describe the results of the placement of the shadow planets in the houses of the horoscope, hold a different opinion.
We should like to add several important remarks concerning the placement of Rahu and Ketu in the houses of the horoscope. Concerning the characteristics of these planets there are three main opinions: 1) they act as the lord of the sign that they occupy, 2) their nature is like that of Mars and Saturn, and also 3) the view of Kalidasa given below. An experienced astrologer intuitively understands what influences the shadow planets conduct when he analyses a horoscope or draws up forecasts.
Relying on the famous classical work of Kalidasa, the “Uttara Kalamrita”, it may be said that, being shadow planets, these planets are not regarded as the lords of any houses or signs. If Rahu and Ketu are in conjunction (in the same sign) with a planet, then they take on its qualities, become conductors of its energy, and in their periods, or bhuktis, act like that planet. When the shadow planets do not enter into a conjunction — they give the results of the planet aspecting them. And only when Rahu and Ketu are neither joined nor aspected by planets do they act as the lord of the sign in which they are placed.
If one of the two nodes and the lord of a triad are placed in conjunction in the 9th or 10th houses or if one of them is in the 9th, and the other in the 10th, a favourable yoga is formed, which will bring prosperity to the owner of the horoscope. If at the same time a malefic planet enters into a conjunction with or aspects one of the shadow planets, then the bhukti [sub-period] of the yoga-karaka will prove unfavourable.
And a last remark. Rahu and Ketu become beneficial when they occupy the positions of a triad or of a kendra from the lagna. The shadow planets also prove beneficial when they are joined with the lords of a house of a triad or of a quadrant. But if at the same time the lord of the 9th house also owns the 8th (in the case of Gemini rising), or the 12th (in the case of Libra rising), and also if the lords of the 9th or 10th houses are joined with the lords of the 8th and 12th houses, the beneficial results of the yoga are lost.

The results of the placement of Rahu in the 7th house
If Rahu is placed in the 7th Bhava, then the person will face opposition from his wife, or he will become the cause of the wife's death; the person's wife will be irascible (inclined to anger), with a quarrelsome character, sickly (unhealthy).
Comments: If Rahu is placed in the 7th Bhava [house], then it will cause a problem with the health of the person's wife. His married life will not be happy, and there is insufficient love between wife and husband. Almost all the learned authors of astrology say that Rahu in the 7th house will give dissatisfaction in married life. The person will suffer from losses of his partners in business or profession. The professional career of such people often develops with a delay. Rahu in this position prompts the person to enter into an “inter-caste” marriage (that is, into a marriage between different estates).
