If malefics aspect Venus, the person may amuse himself greatly and thereby create problems for himself in his studies. The person may be drawn to art connected with religion and history. They are carried away by philosophy, foreign languages, other religions. This is the house of the right path and of divine help. “Bhrigu Sutra” 6.49-58

A person who has Venus in the 9th house of the horoscope will devote himself to meditation and will perform religious rituals. He will have auspicious signs on his feet, such as the lotus, the ankusha, the conch and others. His life will pass in comfort, and he will be  blessed with children. The father of the owner of the horoscope will live a long life. If Venus is joined with or aspected by a malefic planet, or is in the house of an inauspicious planet or in the sign of its debilitation, the loss of wealth and illicit relations with the wife of his mentor await the master of the horoscope. When Venus is joined with or aspected by a benefic planet or is in its own sign or in the sign of exaltation, great success, fortune and prosperity are expected as the result of a maharaja yoga. In the case of a conjunction with the lords of the 4th or 7th houses the owner of the horoscope will be exceedingly fortunate and will enjoy the conveniences of all kinds of means of transport, beautiful clothing and ornaments.

Comments:

The 9th house is the very best in the horoscope. Venus is the second, after Jupiter, great beneficial planet. Undoubtedly, its placement in the 9th house will reveal all the good indications of this house to the maximum.

According to the theory of “Bhavad-bhavam”, the 9th house is the fifth to the 5th house, the house of children. A benefic planet being in it brings happiness in children, their fortune and prosperity. Venus in the 9th house, the house of foreign trips, will give much travel around the world, and as the kalatra-karaka — the possibility of marriage abroad.

Very favourable will be the placement of Venus in Taurus and in Libra. In these cases the signs of Virgo and Aquarius will be rising, and Venus will be the mistress of the 2nd and 9th houses, of the 4th and 9th houses respectively. This forms dhana and raja yogas, which taken together give the results of the maharaja yoga described in the sutras.

“Brihat Jataka” — piety, religiousness, a philosophical
cast of mind.

“Phaladipika” — the owner of the horoscope will attain elevation in life thanks to the favour of the king or the government. He will be happy with his wife, children and friends.

“Saravali” — a person who has Venus occupying the 9th house in the horoscope will have a strong build. He will acquire enormous wealth, will be happy in family life and with friends, and will honour the laws of hospitality. The owner of the horoscope will be noble, and will devote his life to the service of God and of the spiritual master.

“Chamatkar Chintamani” — religiousness, comfort, a happy life, good relations with brothers, their high position. The master of the horoscope himself will be a prosperous moneylender.

Note: All the treatises note very favourable results of the placement of Venus in the 9th house. The predictions of the “Chamatkar Chintamani” concerning the brothers of the owner of the horoscope can be explained by the influence of Venus on the 3rd house. The best possible characteristics of the 3rd house are revealed in the case of Venus being
in Scorpio or Aries, since in that case it influences its own house.
