Moon in Leo

Results given by the Moon in the sign of Leo

The ancient text of the Brihat Jataka says that one whose Moon is placed in the sign of Leo will have an irritable character; he will have a broad face and large cheeks, brown eyes; he will have few children. Such people will feel a dislike for the other sex, will love animal food, will visit forests and mountains, will remain angry for a long time over trifles, will suffer from hunger, thirst, pains in the stomach and from toothache. They will be generous in gifts, brave in battle, will be steadfast in their principles, haughty and attached to their mothers. Under the influence of their own feelings and emotions they may lose judgement and the capacity for analysis, especially in matters connected with the wife and children. They will be diligent, will have considerable powers of observation and perception, but their emotions will noticeably influence their mind, and this will make them intolerant in certain questions. The element of fire inherent in Leo, mingling with the mental nature of the Moon, creates a troubled mind and gives the character of a remarkable fighter. (Tom Hopke)

Chandra in Simha (the Moon in Leo)

People whose Moon is placed in Leo are resolute, love to be the centre of attention, are artistic, and need spectators and admirers. They are born leaders, love power, and are susceptible to flattery. As a rule they are very self-assured and feel that they were born for greatness and glory. The opinion of those around them does not trouble them; they are egoistic, independent, frank. Leo natives grow angry easily and forgive quickly. They are sincere and noble.  (Indubala)

The Moon in Leo: faithful in attachments, stubborn, bold, self-centred, proud, haughty, irritable, ambitious. (Sri Govind Swarup Agarwal)

The Moon in Leo

Angry, high or broad cheeks, coloured eyes, few children, a misogynist, loves raw meat, wild country and mountains; prolonged adversities, suffering from ailments arising from hunger and thirst, [from diseases] of the stomach, the teeth and the mind; generous, bold, constant, a proud mind, obedient to his mother. (Varahamihira — «Brihat Jataka», 17.5)

When the Moon, the sign in which it is placed, and its ruler are strong, then the results indicated above are realised in full.

Commentary: B. S. Rao gives the following explanations. This interpretation applies in full in those cases where the Moon, the house in which it is placed, and the planet that rules it are all strong. If only two of these three factors are strong, the characteristics indicated will manifest only partly. If only one of these factors is strong, only traces of these influences will be noticeable. Finally, if all of them are weak, then we shall not notice any coincidence with the interpretations given, even to a small degree. (Varahamihira — «Brihat Jataka», 17.13)

RESULTS OF THE PLACEMENT OF CHANDRA IN SIMHA

If at the time of birth Chandra occupies Simha, then the person will love to wander in forests and hills, there will be quarrels at home, he will suffer from diseases of the throat and the belly, and will possess a dull body.

Commentary: The Rashi [sign] in which Chandra [the Moon] is placed at the time of birth is called «Chandra-Lagna’ (Chandra as the Lagna). In Hora Shastra [predictive astrology] the Chandra-Lagna is just as important as the Lagna; its analysis is very important for understanding a person's inner personality. If the Chandra-Rashi (Chandra-Lagna) is stronger than the Rashi of the Lagna, then most of the events of life will be determined precisely by it (that is, by the Chandra-Rashi). Since Chandra is the Karaka [indicator] of the mind, the soul and the heart, the qualities of the Rashi and the qualities of the ruler of the Rashi in which Chandra is placed will definitely be present in the person's mind in the form of emotions; this is represented by the character and qualities of the Chandra-Rashi and of the ruler of the Chandra-Rashi.

It has been observed that a person with the placement of Chandra [the Moon] in Simha [the sign Leo] in the birth chart will, as a rule, have an infection in the throat and a cough. If this combination is in the Lagna, then this result is certain.
