How a consultation works
Everything starts with the birth data: date, time and place. The more exact the time, the more exact the chart — a shift of four minutes moves the house cusps by roughly one degree, and a shift of two hours changes the ascendant entirely, and with it the house lords and the whole logic of the reading. So if the time on your documents is rounded off («around eight in the morning») or unknown altogether, the conversation begins with rectification.
Rectification means recovering the birth time from the events of a life. We take a dozen or two dated facts — moves, marriage, the birth of children, changes of job, operations, the loss of people close to you — and look for the time at which the planetary periods (dashas) and the transits fall onto those events without being forced. It is painstaking work: it usually takes several iterations and a round of clarifying questions. But everything built on that chart afterwards has something to stand on.
The reading of the natal chart moves from the general to the particular. First the ascendant and its lord: constitution, temperament, the way a person enters the world and the way the world sees them. Then the strength and placement of the planets: dignity by sign, nakshatra, the neighbours in the house, the aspects. Then the house lords and the links between them — it is these that show which areas of a person's life are tied together and which live apart. And only after that the yogas, the stable combinations that give a chart its characteristic sound.
Time is a separate part of the conversation. The chart shows potential; the dasha and the transits show when that potential opens up. The same Saturn in the tenth house gives slow but solid growth in a career during its own period, and barely shows itself during someone else's. So in a consultation we always look not only at «what is there» but at «which stretch of life you are standing on right now».
What people come with
Most often with work and with relationships. A chart shows what kind of activity gives a person not only an income but an inner agreement with themselves: the combination of the tenth house, its lord, the placement of the Sun and Saturn and the links with the houses of wealth usually narrows the search down to two or three clear directions. On relationships, a chart shows not «suitable or unsuitable» but what a person is looking for in a partner, which scenarios keep repeating, and in which periods meetings and partings are likely.
People also come to choose a time for a beginning — registering a business, moving, filing documents, having an operation. This is where muhurta works: a day and an hour are chosen at which the tithi, the nakshatra and the position of the Moon do not stand in the way of what is planned. It is not a guarantee of the result, but it is not a trifle either: something begun at an unfavourable moment usually costs noticeably more effort over the same distance.
What a consultation does not do
An astrologer does not replace a doctor, a lawyer or a therapist. We do not make diagnoses, we do not give legal opinions and we do not prescribe treatment; if the subject of health comes up, we are speaking about tendencies and about what may be worth raising with a specialist. We do not name dates of death — neither our own nor anyone else's. And we do not undertake to answer questions about third parties without their knowledge.
Nor should you expect flat predictions of the «in March you will get a job» kind. A chart describes a field of probabilities and the quality of time, not a timetable of events. The practical use of a consultation lies elsewhere: understanding your strong sides, seeing the scenarios that keep repeating, choosing a suitable moment, and no longer spending effort where the chart does not support it.
What to prepare
To book, an email to info@astrojyotish.info is enough. In the letter give the date, time and city of birth, along with two or three questions that genuinely matter to you — that way the conversation stays concrete. If the birth time is imprecise, attach a list of dated events from your life: it will be needed for the rectification.
Consultations are given for a voluntary contribution towards the development of the project. Everything we receive goes into the calculation part of the site and into translating the material — the site shows no advertising and does not sell visitors' data.
