Moon in Capricorn
Results given by the Moon in the sign of Capricorn
The Moon in Capricorn. These people are wandering by nature. They do not like cold weather. There is a merciless or coarse streak in them, yet they love people and care for people belonging to the lower classes of society. Such people are sometimes supporters of democracy, defenders of the masses. They have an inclination towards creativity; they may make good organisers. Outwardly they are usually lean, with a large head and large eyebrows. Capricorn makes a person self-assured, wishing to achieve much, cold and calculating; it gives him success in business and also gives romantic ideals. They are modest and make people who are able to serve something or someone well. Such people believe in fate. In their life they struggle with something and experience a lack of energy. They are inconstant, but they have a kind heart. (Tom Hopke)

(Varahamihira — «Brihat Jataka», 17.10)
When the Moon, the sign in which it is placed, and its ruler are strong, then the results indicated above are realised in full.
Commentary: B. S. Rao gives the following explanations. This interpretation applies in full in those cases where the Moon, the house in which it is placed, and the planet that rules it are all strong. If only two of these three factors are strong, the characteristics indicated will manifest only partly. If only one of these factors is strong, only traces of these influences will be noticeable. Finally, if all of them are weak, then we shall not notice any coincidence with the interpretations given, even to a small degree. (Varahamihira — «Brihat Jataka», 17.13)

RESULTS OF THE PLACEMENT OF CHANDRA IN MAKARA
A person in whose birth chart Chandra is in Makara will be very sensitive to cold, skilful in music, will not be quick to anger, will be voluptuous, and will perform excellent and auspicious deeds according to the tradition of his family.
Commentary: The Rashi [sign] in which Chandra [the Moon] is placed at the time of birth is called «Chandra-Lagna’ (Chandra as the Lagna). In Hora Shastra [predictive astrology] the Chandra-Lagna is just as important as the Lagna; its analysis is very important for understanding a person's inner personality. If the Chandra-Rashi (Chandra-Lagna) is stronger than the Rashi of the Lagna, then most of the events of life will be determined precisely by it (that is, by the Chandra-Rashi). Since Chandra is the Karaka [indicator] of the mind, the soul and the heart, the qualities of the Rashi and the qualities of the ruler of the Rashi in which Chandra is placed will definitely be present in the person's mind in the form of emotions; this is represented by the character and qualities of the Chandra-Rashi and of the ruler of the Chandra-Rashi.
People with Chandra in Makara in the birth chart respect traditions; the observance of traditions is a part of their life. They may be called strict and persistent. A sense of duty is developed in them. With enthusiasm and energy they fulfil their responsibilities and obligations towards their children; but the manner of fulfilment is completely different from that of others. Owing to a lack of the ability to penetrate the minds of other people, these people are unable to give attention to those they look after. Because of this their children strive to stand on their own feet as early as possible, that is, before they have grown up.
