Moon in Taurus
Results given by the Moon in the sign of Taurus
The ancient text of the Brihat Jataka says that they will be people «of beautiful appearance, with broad hips, generous in gifts, able to bear misfortunes patiently; they will possess great influence and power over others; they will have more daughters than sons, will be patient, will love the opposite sex and will be attached to their friends». Other sources say that people with the Moon in Taurus are serious, thoughtful, observant, receptive and judicious. They think independently; but they need to be careful in order to avoid the excessive influence of their own feelings. They attain success in occupations connected with the land and its products. Chandra in Vrishabha (the Moon in Taurus)
For the Moon the placement in Taurus is the best in the whole Zodiac. This manifests in a controlled, calm, balanced character. As a rule, people whose Moon is in Taurus inherit the best qualities of their mothers and their property; they have a strong intellect, are able to concentrate, and are persistent in attaining their goal. They are a little lazy, practical, reliable, thrifty, conservative. Success as a rule comes to them in the second half of life. Venus gives them attractiveness, a good physique, an inclination to stoutness, a love of music and of all that is beautiful. (Indubala)
The Moon in Taurus: democratic, inspired by beauty, the good life and the fair sex, phlegmatic, irresolute, self-centred, thirsting for pleasures. (Sri Govind Swarup Agarwal)
The Moon in Taurus
Handsome, a playful gait, elongated hips and face, the sides and the face have several marks, generous, bearing fatigue well, owning personal property, begetting girls, phlegmatic, separated from elders, connections, family, wealth and children; popular, patient, good digestion, loved by women, firm friendship, happy in the middle and at the end of life. (Varahamihira — «Brihat Jataka», 17.2)
When the Moon, the sign in which it is placed, and its ruler are strong, then the results indicated above are realised in full.
Commentary: B. S. Rao gives the following explanations. This interpretation applies in full in those cases where the Moon, the house in which it is placed, and the planet that rules it are all strong. If only two of these three factors are strong, the characteristics indicated will manifest only partly. If only one of these factors is strong, only traces of these influences will be noticeable. Finally, if all of them are weak, then we shall not notice any coincidence with the interpretations given, even to a small degree. (Varahamihira — «Brihat Jataka», 17.13)

RESULTS OF THE PLACEMENT OF CHANDRA IN VRISHABHA
If Chandra occupies Vrishabha, then the person's steps are stable (he progresses constantly), he will be endowed with considerable intellectual abilities, will be skilful in good deeds, will support other people and will receive happiness from performing noble deeds.
Commentary: The Rashi [sign] in which Chandra [the Moon] is placed at the time of birth is called «Chandra-Lagna» (Chandra as the Lagna). In Hora Shastra [predictive astrology] the Chandra-Lagna is just as important as the Lagna; its analysis is very important for understanding a person's inner personality. If the Chandra-Rashi (Chandra-Lagna) is stronger than the Rashi of the Lagna, then most of the events of life will be determined precisely by it (that is, by the Chandra-Rashi). Since Chandra is the Karaka [indicator] of the mind, the soul and the heart, the qualities of the Rashi and the qualities of the ruler of the Rashi in which Chandra is placed will definitely be present in the person's mind in the form of emotions; this is represented by the character and qualities of the Chandra-Rashi and of the ruler of the Chandra-Rashi.
Chandra is the Karaka of the mother. Chandra expresses support, the nurturing of other people/children, generosity, a feeling of service to others, hospitality. Chandra in the Rashi Vrishabha [the sign Taurus] is in exaltation. If there are no unfavourable influences upon it in this Rashi, then the person's mind and heart will be well developed, and he will have good manners. Such a person will show no excess or sharpness in anything he does. He will complete his work steadily and calmly. Creative thinking, hospitality, an inclination to do auspicious deeds, a motherly attitude — these are his natural qualities.
