Natives with Venus in the 6th house are reliable in their service to other people. They have few enemies or else they make a strong impression on everyone. Their partner in marriage may be weak or sickly. They should not expect a luxurious life rich in enjoyments. They have a chance of making a journey to the tropics, abroad, or else of undertaking a journey for the purposes of education. Venus in the sixth house: This is an unfavourable placement for Venus. Venus is the indicator of marriage. In the house of enemies Venus becomes weak, and various problems arise for the person in married life. They spend more time on debates and arguments, and the marriage may end in divorce. Venus does not give wealth here. The 6th sign of the natural zodiac is Virgo, where Venus is debilitated. It is very difficult for the person to rise in material life. Although Venus is a hot planet, in astrology it is considered cold. The 6th house is digestion, and cold planets in the stomach do not give the necessary warmth for normal digestion. Therefore, such people may develop intestinal disorders and an intolerance of certain foods. This may arise especially if the Moon also sees (aspects) Venus, or they are together. Also these people have a great tendency towards diabetes, illnesses of the kidneys. For married life this is also an unfavourable placement. This is the house of service. Such people have work connected with creativity. Architects, clothing designers, jewellers, hairdressers may have Venus in the 6th house. They may not work in this speciality, but nevertheless have such abilities. In a man's chart Venus in the 6th house gives a desire to have subordinates, workers of the female sex. The person takes good care of his subordinates. If Venus is in the 6th house in the husband's chart, it is better not to hire beautiful housekeepers, assistants and secretaries. This is also the house of domestic animals and of all animals in general. Venus in the 6th house gives a love of animals, and the person cares for them and worries about their fate. Venus (Shukra) in the 6th house

Venus in the 6th house: a good placement for money, but it has a bad influence on the partner and on personal relationships. Is not popular with the opposite sex. Sexual weakness, does not receive pleasure from intimate life; with a conjunction of Venus with Rahu or Saturn the sexual attraction is absent. Venus in a watery sign — alcohol dependence, immoral behaviour. The placement of Venus in the Upachaya houses (3, 6, 10 or 11) or in the 7th house says that after marrying, fortune will smile on the person much more often than before marriage. A person with Venus in the 6th house in a watery sign gives himself up to vices. VENUS IN THE 6TH HOUSE

If Venus is placed in the 6th house, the owner of the horoscope will have many relatives, children and grandchildren. His enemies will be defeated. He will become sickly, wasteful and untruthful. If the lord of the 6th house is strong, an increase in the number of relatives and of enemies should be expected. When the lord of the 6th house is joined with a malefic planet or is in the sign of its debilitation, or is joined with the Moon, there will be a loss of relatives and the destruction of enemies.

Comments:

The “Bhrigu Sutra” astonishes exceedingly by the accuracy and logic of its statements, although sometimes certain sutras cause bewilderment. Perhaps incompetent copyists (especially in the Middle Ages, before the appearance of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, when the tradition fell into some decline) were unable to restore the original parts of the manuscript and filled the gaps with their own judgements. Thus in sutra 34 it is asserted that Venus in the 6th house speaks of a large number of children and grandchildren. The 6th house is the 3rd house from the 4th, therefore it is also connected with relatives, chiefly on the mother's side. But neither the 6th house nor Venus has any relation either to children or to grandchildren. On the contrary, being the second house (a maraka sthana) to the 5th, an activated 6th house brings problems with childbearing or a small number of children. Besides, the 5th house is the indicator of a luxurious life rich in enjoyments, and the presence of Venus, the planet of sensual pleasures, in the 6th house gives the owner of the horoscope very moderate financial means and a modest life full of restrictions.

Being by character a benefic planet, Venus in the 6th house ought not to cause serious illnesses. But as the kalatra-karaka, the indicator of the wife, Venus in the 6th house may give a sickly marriage partner. As the significator of the 4th house, connected with education, Venus, being in the 6th (the third from the 4th house), will provide the opportunity to make a trip for the purposes of education.

According to sutra 36, a strong lord of the 6th house will cause an increase in the number of relatives and of enemies, and a weak one — the opposite. The logic of this statement is that if the 6th house receives strength, there will be many enemies and illnesses, and in the opposite case a weakening of the negative characteristics may be expected.

Other opinions concerning Venus in the 6th house:

“Brihat Jataka” — an absence of enemies.

“Phaladipika” — the owner of the horoscope will have no enemies, but he will be poor and unhappy. Illicit relations with several women should also be expected.

“Saravali” — hostility towards the wife, many enemies and a base cast of mind.

“Chamatkar Chintamani” — dangerous enemies, great expenditures, failures in all undertakings, an absence of mutual understanding with the father and the mentor.

Note: Opposite views are observed concerning the position of Venus in the 6th house. The “Bhrigu Sutra” brings clarity, reconciling the contradictory opinions, by considering the strength of the lord of the 6th house, proceeding from the position of which the correct conclusions are drawn.

The results of the placement of Venus (Shukra) in the 6th house

In the case of the position of Shukra in the 6th Bhava the person is hated by women, he has small sexual desires, he is weak and troubled by his enemies.

Comments: There are many different opinions among experienced astrologers with regard to the results of Shukra [Venus] in the 6th Bhava [house]. Some consider this position of Shukra favourable, while others regard it as unfavourable. If Shukra in the 6th Bhava is weak, or if malefic Grahas influence it, then the person suffers from many physical illnesses, sorrow and mental problems, does not receive suitable nourishment and does not have great desires in sex; besides this, he has no good people in his company. If Shukra is strong, then the opposite results do not occur.
