Venus in the 2nd house
The results given by Venus in the second house of the horoscope
Venus in the 2nd house is an excellent placement of Venus, serving as a sign of a person with an attractive face, who experiences no lack of money, with a benevolent manner of speech and abilities in poetry. They own property, are happy in family life. They have jewels, they speak diplomatically, they have a romantic character or one with a great pull towards eroticism, they love to eat well and a convenient opportunity falls to them to deliver speeches before a large number of listeners. (Tom Hopke)
Venus in the second house: A very favourable place for Venus, a beautiful face, eyes and voice. Gentle, creative speech. The person has a fortunate, happy family life. The person is strongly attached to the family. This is a prosperous, kind person. Easy money comes to him from various sources, and he tries to help everyone. The second house is wealth and savings. A strong Venus gives an interest in collecting expensive ornaments, stamps, coins, antiques, paintings and other beautiful valuable things. Second and subsequent marriages must be looked at by the 2nd house. If the 7th house is damaged, but is at the same time favourably placed, this may mean the success of a second marriage. If in the 2nd house Venus is in the sign of Taurus, Libra, Pisces — these favourable indications are strengthened still further. (Mahesh Dharmadasa)

Venus in the 2nd house: large eyes, clever speech, heightened sensuality; bathes in luxury, wealth and female attention; is inclined to indulge his whims and to spend much on them. Strives to surround himself with beauty and material goods. If Venus in the horoscope occupies the 1st, 2nd, 10th or 11th house, the person can successfully manage the finances of shopping centres, amusement parks, cinemas, sports complexes, art galleries, and also of organisations that engage in the provision of services or the sale of objects of luxury. Comments:
The 2nd house is the house of wealth, and a benefic Venus gives the owner of the horoscope good financial opportunities and the ownership of jewels. Since the indications of the 2nd house are also speech and eyesight, Venus in the 2nd house endows one with a pleasant manner of speech, a poetic gift and beautiful, expressive eyes. As the great sage notes, an afflicted lord of the 2nd house will cause eye diseases.
Venus in the 2nd house will manifest in the best way if it is placed in its own signs or in the sign of exaltation. In the case of Aries rising, Venus will be in Taurus as the mistress of the 2nd and 7th houses. When Virgo rises, Venus in the 2nd house in the sign of Libra is placed as the mistress of the 2nd and 9th houses. And finally, with Aquarius rising, Venus is in Pisces as the mistress of the 4th and 9th houses. All these placements form strong dhana yogas.
Other opinions about Venus in the 2nd house:
“Brihat Jataka” — sweet speech will become a distinguishing feature of the character of the owner of the horoscope.
“Phaladipika” — wealth from many sources and a poetic gift.
“Saravali” — the master of the horoscope will be very rich and modest (simple, humble, shy), eloquent, filled with fame and will have the attributes of a luxurious life of the highest class (including the company of beautiful women), will enjoy good food and drink.
“Chamatkar Chintamani” — the owner of the horoscope will be sweet-spoken, intelligent and handsome. He will become a lover of beautiful women and good clothes.
Note: An agreement of all the authors is observed concerning the favourable characteristics of the placement of Venus in the 2nd house, but it is also necessary to take into account the situations described by the sutras, in which negative results arise.

The results of the placement of Venus (Shukra) in the 2nd house
If Shukra is placed in the 2nd Bhava, then the person eats tasty and pleasure-giving food, he has very good taste in the clothes that he wears, he is prosperous and rich, possesses a means of transport and is well versed in many sciences.
Comments: In the natural birth chart (or in a horoscope with Aries in the Ascendant) the 2nd Bhava [house] is the own Bhava of Shukra [Venus]. If Shukra is in a favourable position (that is, in a beneficial Rashi [sign] in the 2nd Bhava), then the person speaks with refined and sweet speech. He easily attracts other people. His point of view possesses importance and meaning. He respects the traditions of his family, and therefore he follows them devotedly. He is greatly loved by the people close to him and by the members of his family. He receives the father's property without meeting obstacles and barriers. His face is beautiful and charming. In his family an atmosphere of happiness, prosperity, harmony and love prevails. But if Shukra is in an unfavourable position (that is, in a malefic Rashi in the 2nd Bhava), then the opposite situation will be created with regard to the father's property, happiness and harmony in the family, and there will also be unfavourableness with regard to the other significations mentioned above: speech, food and drink, and so on.
