How the auspiciousness of a planet depends on the houses it rules

How the auspiciousness of a planet depends on which houses of the horoscope it rules

  1. The rulers of the 1st, 5th and 9th houses are functional benefics.
  2. Natural malefics ruling the 4th, 7th and 10th houses are freed from their evil qualities.
  3. Natural benefics ruling the 4th, 7th and 10th houses lose their beneficent potential.
  4. The malevolence of the rulers of the 3rd, 6th and 11th houses grows in the order given.
  5. The malevolence of the lords of the 12th, 2nd and 8th houses increases in the order given.
  6. If the lord of the 8th house also rules the 3rd, 6th or 11th, it becomes a malefic; if instead of that it rules a trikona, its effects will be favourable.
  7. The manifestations of the lords of the 2nd and 12th houses depend on their connections with other planets.
  8. Benefic planets ruling the trikonas (the 1st, 5th and 9th houses) and placed in kendras (the 1st, 4th, 7th and 10th) have an enormous positive potential.
  9. Malefic planets ruling the kendras and placed in trikonas are able to bring much good.
  10. A debilitated planet in conjunction with an exalted one is nourished by its strength.
  11. The Lagnesha strengthens the house in which it is placed and the houses it aspects. Being placed in a bad house, it rids that house of evil, but is itself deprived of strength thereby.
