1st navamsha (00.00-3.20): modest, believing, truthful, faithful to his oath (keeping his promises) and diligent (assiduous).
2nd navamsha (03.20-06:40): enjoys his father’s wealth and spends it, wins in a struggle and loves dancing women.
3rd navamsha (06.40-10.00): the marriage partner keeps the native under the thumb, he may have no children, he possesses magical abilities and knows the art of war.
4th navamsha (10.00-13.20): several wives (husbands), handsome, deserving of respect, loves games in the water, is wealthy and possesses real estate, serves the king (or some important persons).
5th navamsha (13.20-16.40): has many friends, a minister in the royal government, happy thanks to friends and relatives, attains great fame and respect.
6th navamsha (16.40-20.00): defeats his enemies, will be a warrior, has close friends, may work in the tax service.
7th navamsha (20.00-23.20): establishes his own order everywhere, becomes a well-known leader or general.
8th navamsha (23.20-26.40): has a progressive (free) way of thinking, possesses renown, is reluctant to spend money, is prone to anger, receives much trouble and pain from evil people.
9th navamsha (26.40-30.00): a long life, a cheerful character, hard-working, happy, educated, has a religious way of thinking, respected in society.
These are very general descriptions, but sometimes from them one can understand whether the navamsha of birth is right or not, and shift it forward or back.
