The conjunction Ketu + Saturn

Ketu + Saturn points to deeply rooted qualities of Saturn and an inborn pessimistic outlook. It gives a leaning towards melancholy, depression, stinginess and an earthbound outlook; it gives a spirit of fundamentalism and of blind adherence to tradition (Saturn is tradition). It is hard to accept the new; conservatism. If Saturn in conjunction with Ketu is weak — idleness, laziness, neglect of duty.

The combination Ketu + Saturn usually spoils the indications of the house. It may give fatalism and the inevitability of failure in the affairs of the house where this combination takes place. An aspect of Jupiter can soften the negative influence.

The positive side of the conjunction Ketu + Saturn is that it gives success in work that calls for precision and punctuality. It gives a deep philosophical understanding in the signs of Scorpio, Aquarius and Pisces. It may give an inborn spirit of renunciation of the themes of the house where it takes place, on the principle of «well, if it is not there, then it is not needed».

The native was a military man (Mars in the 1st house) who strictly kept to army discipline, served diligently and was a very hard-working person, but had to end his military career before its time because of the state of his health. Constant overloads and overtime work led to this. Ketu + Saturn in the 10th create a double negative for the career.

The influence of Ketu => Saturn

Saturn is stronger than Ketu — the ability to be here and now. A deep living-through of suffering and, as a consequence, an ability to accept the circumstances of life. With such a placement people not infrequently break down and begin to numb their pain. But it sometimes happens that the person becomes highly spiritual and is freed from the pressure of expectations.

Saturn is weaker than Ketu — an ineradicable position of the victim. The person is entirely closed in upon the living-through of his personal suffering and pain. In rare cases paranoia may develop. Self-pity. With such a placement it is extremely hard to accept one's situation in life and to begin acting for the sake of a brighter future.

Inner sorrow. Slow and painful self-examination. A lack of understanding of the inner life. An unwillingness to be in contact with one's own thoughts and desires. A favourable Saturn may in rare cases give inner calm and acceptance. An unfavourable one gives constant, painful distress and tension.
