Ubhayachara
This yoga arises when planets other than the Moon occupy the second and twelfth houses from the Sun.
One born with this yoga will be of a strong build, will be a king or the equal of a king, capable of bearing great responsibility, highly educated, holding a balanced outlook, wealthy, stately, possessing numerous objects of pleasure. These results will be exceedingly good when benefic planets form this yoga. If this yoga is formed by malefic planets, the native will be sickly, servile, abandoned and inclined to evil deeds.
Ubhayachari yoga is the equivalent of Durudhara yoga from the family of Lunar yogas. This yoga, like Durudhara yoga, has one hundred and eight varieties, depending on the number of planets joined on either side of the Sun.
It is known that Mercury and Venus do not move far from the Sun, and solar yogas arise frequently. They must therefore be interpreted attentively and cautiously, and not literally as they are mentioned in the classical texts. Solar yogas must be interpreted with a careful assessment of the other yogas present in the horoscope.

In chart VIII-3 the Ubhayachari yoga involves the Sun in the twelfth house, Mercury in the lagna (the second house from the Sun) and Venus in the eleventh house (the twelfth house from the Sun). Two benefic planets stand on either side of the Sun. The person who has this chart is a woman doctor; she left India and works in the USA. She has every convenience at her disposal.
The ruler of the twelfth house from the Sun, Mercury, in the second house and the ruler of the eleventh house, Venus, in the twelfth house show monetary income in a foreign country. The same is indicated by the Gaja-Kesari yoga falling on the 3/9 axis of houses from the lagna, or on the 4/10 axis of houses from the Sun. The Moon as ruler of the twelfth house and Jupiter as ruler of the fifth and eighth houses, along the 3/9 axis of houses, show a change of country for the native and the acquisition of social standing and popularity in a foreign country. Jupiter, as ruler of the fifth house, is closely connected with Rahu and aspects the fifth house in the Navamsha, confirming popularity for her and for her husband (the 5/11 axis in the navamsha chart) in a foreign country (Rahu indicates distance and deviation).
