Dhana Yoga

Dhana means wealth. Dhana Yogis are combinations that give a person great wealth. The main rule is that the lords of the 5th and 9th houses and the planets associated with them are capable of giving money. They give results in their dasha. The 11th house is also important for material gain, and it should be strong. The 2nd house is also important. If the Moon, Mercury, Jupiter, or Venus are exalted in the 2nd house, it makes the person born very wealthy.

In addition to these general principles, Parashara listed specific combinations for different ascendants. In all these combinations, the strength of the participating planets determines the magnitude of the manifested results.

(1) For Aries ascendant: If the Sun is in the 5th house and Saturn, Moon, and Jupiter are in the 11th house, each becomes very wealthy. If Mars occupies the ascendant and is conjunct or aspected by Mercury, Venus, and Saturn, then also each becomes very wealthy.

(2) For Taurus ascendant: If Mercury is in the 5th house and Moon, Mars, and Jupiter are in the 11th house, the person becomes very wealthy. If Venus occupies the ascendant and is conjunct or aspected by Mercury and Saturn, then also the person becomes very wealthy.

Principle of Yuti (Conjunction)

It is commonly accepted that the conjunction of the lord of the 9th and 10th houses in kendras or konas gives Raj Yoga, which can mean a good job/profession. However, very often we come across people with ordinary careers, even though their charts contain such combinations. On the other hand, there are people who have great influence, even though their charts do not have such combinations. To explain this paradox, astrologers are forced to define houses differently and use houses that provide an explanation for such situations.

In the Rashi chart, when two planets are together in the same nakshatra and also in the same navamsha, such a conjunction has the potential to manifest results fully. Even if they are in different navamshas but in the same nakshatra, the conjunction is considered good and effective. On the other hand, if they are in the same sign but in different nakshatras, they are far apart and the conjunction does not take place.

To understand what Yuti is, deep insight is required. For example, Mercury in the Punarvasu nakshatra in Gemini and Jupiter in the Ashlesha nakshatra in Cancer: they are neither in the same nakshatra nor in the same sign. But their connection is so strong due to the exchange of nakshatras that they are almost in Yuti. Furthermore, if Mercury is in the 4th quarter of the Punarvasu nakshatra, which falls in the sign of Cancer, then, since Jupiter is in Ashlesha in the same sign, it is incorrect to say that they are not in conjunction. On the contrary, they are in conjunction due to the exchange of nakshatras.

Rahu and Ketu fully represent the lords of the signs they are in. Other planets also do this, but not to the extent that Rahu and Ketu do. If Rahu or Ketu is in Aries or Scorpio, they represent Mars, the ruler of Aries and Scorpio, and both houses associated with these signs. If Rahu or Ketu is in Aries and Jupiter, for example, is in Scorpio, then Rahu/Ketu can also represent Jupiter. However, if Rahu/Ketu and Jupiter are together in the same sign, then Rahu/Ketu cannot work for Jupiter unless they are in the same nakshatra. The conjunction of Rahu and Jupiter (Guru) in a sign is considered Guru-Chandala Yoga. This yoga manifests only if both planets are in the same nakshatra. Or even if they are not in the same nakshatra, if Rahu is in Jupiter's nakshatra and Jupiter is in Rahu's nakshatra, this yoga manifests. If Rahu and Jupiter exchange nakshatras, the yoga works in full force.
