BPHS: If the ruler of the 5th bhava occupies the 2nd bhava, then the native will have many sons and much wealth. He will support his family, will be respected, devoted to his wife and he will have worldwide renown.
Comments: The 5th bhava [house] is the bhava of the intellect. The 2nd bhava is the bhava of wealth and the family. Therefore it is entirely natural that the ruler of the 5th bhava, placed in the 2nd bhava, will make the mind inclined towards the acquisition of money and wealth and inclined to support the family. With the Vrishabha [Taurus] and Vrishchika [Scorpio] Lagnas, these two bhavas (the 2nd and the 5th) will be ruled by Buddha [Mercury] or Guru [Jupiter] respectively. Therefore with these Lagnas the results will be especially manifest. In the case where the Lagna is Kanya [Virgo], then the ruler of the 5th bhava, Shani [Saturn], placed in the 2nd bhava, will be in its rashi [sign] of exaltation, but it will also be the ruler of the 6th bhava (the bhava of disputes and struggle); therefore there will be disputes and quarrels in the family and in the end Shani will be to blame for the native’s parting with his family. Shani will also cause the loss of wealth. With the Dhanu [Sagittarius] Lagna the ruler of the 5th bhava, Mangala [Mars], being the ruler of the 12th bhava, will also be in its rashi of exaltation in the 2nd bhava. Therefore a native with this Lagna will earn much wealth in foreign countries and the results described in the shloka will manifest to an exceptional degree. The reverse situation will occur with the Kumbha [Aquarius] Lagna, because the ruler of the 5th bhava, Buddha [Mercury], being the ruler of the 8th bhava, will be in its rashi of debilitation in the 2nd bhava. And then Buddha will cause the loss of wealth and of the paternal fortune, will make the native inclined towards vices and will force him to earn wealth by unlawful means. Such a person will also have a short life, because Buddha is also the karaka [significator] of age. A native with any Lagna will strive to study economics or mathematics. This is connected with the fact that the 2nd bhava is the bhava of wealth and statistics.
