Malavya Yoga

Malavya Yoga

Malavya yoga is the placement of Venus in Taurus, Libra or Pisces in an angular house [that is, in the 1st, 4th, 7th and 10th houses of the horoscope — editor’s note]. It endows a person with a good figure, a strong will, wide reading, renown and wealth. He will die peacefully or of his own will.

Venus gives Malavya yoga. Malavya is a special kind of costly wood from which objects of luxury are made. It gives comfort and the conditions for enjoyment.

One born with Malavya yoga has a noble appearance, beautiful lips, a narrow waist, a fine body, a deep voice, gleaming teeth and a fair complexion like the full Moon. He has prominent cheeks, bright eyes and long arms reaching to his knees.

Malavya yoga gives a person education and wealth. A person with this yoga earns by his own labour. He is strong and blessed with a wife, children and material comfort. He is intelligent, educated and knows the sacred scriptures, but he does, however, have an inclination towards extramarital liaisons. He will live to the age of 70.

Note: The beautiful Venus in Malavya yoga gives beauty, education and a love of physical pleasures.

Sometimes one may notice that a horoscope can contain one or even several Pancha-Mahapurusha yogas and yet pass unnoticed. Therefore, in order to analyse these yogas properly, several points must be noted.

1.The planet forming the yoga must be strong both in the birth chart (by Shad-bala) and in the vargas. This planet will manifest its qualities in full only if it is strong. A dominant Mars is strength and aggression, Mercury — intellect and virtue, Jupiter — wisdom and eloquence, Venus — beauty and pleasure, and Saturn — influence over the masses and misfortune.

2.A Pancha-Mahapurusha yoga will give no results if the Sun or the Moon is in conjunction with the planet that forms this yoga. In that case the planet will give favourable results only during its own dasha. This is equivalent to a cancellation of the Mahapurusha yoga.

  1. Accordingly, if the Sun and the Moon are not with the planet forming the yoga, then this Mahapurusha yoga will manifest in full and will bear fruit not only during its own dasha. In other words, such an «impeccable» Mahapurusha yoga will show itself not only during the dasha of the planet that forms it. This yoga will therefore exert its influence throughout the whole of life. It is analogous to a Nabhasa yoga. The presence of several such favourable yogas in a horoscope raises a person’s material and professional status regardless of the dasha.
